MAAN Development Center conducted two training session in “Governance and Advocacy” for a number of civil society organizations in both Jenin and Hebron Districts. The two training are performed as part of the “WE GOV” project that aims to build the capacity of the local civil society organization in influencing decision making through constructive dialogue with different government bodies.
The training approach was practical where participants got to design real advocacy initiatives and campaigns that they would later implement aiming to either enhance the services or change legislations affecting their communities across the West Bank. The training featured an important participation from the Mayor of Jenin Rageb Haj Hassan who attended part of the training; the Mayor elaborated on the mechanism of the municipality governance and stressed on the importance of dialogue between the civil society organizations and municipalities in their areas in improving the services provided.
