MA'AN Development Center established 12 temporary learning spaces in the Gaza, Central, and Khan Younis governorates, with the spaces distributed as follows: two in Gaza, six in the Central governorate, and four in Khan Younis.
These educational spaces accommodated 2,880 students—1,440 girls and 1,440 boys—who received lessons based on active learning strategies to enhance their academic and practical skills.
Additionally, the center distributed 1,139 care kits for female students in 12 temporary learning spaces in the Central and Khan Younis governorates, supporting the students and promoting a safe learning environment.
Furthermore, the center trained 20 groups of youth leaders, comprising 300 participants, to build their capacities as youth community agents in the temporary learning spaces. The youth leaders conducted 54 peer-to-peer sessions in the Central governorate, including 25 sessions on awareness of war remnants, eight sessions on child protection during emergencies, and 21 sessions on life skills, benefiting 735 participants aged 6 to 18.
The youth community agents took part in several community initiatives inside and outside the learning spaces. These initiatives included distributing school bags and awareness brochures about unexploded ordnance, as well as providing food supplies to children and families returning to the north via Salah al-Din and Al-Rashid streets, with support from the World Central Kitchen (WCK).
MA'AN Development Center continues to strengthen its efforts to ensure a sustainable and safe educational environment for children and youth while empowering them to play an active role in serving their communities during crises and emergencies.
