Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor have revealed alarming figures highlighting the devastating reality faced by children in Gaza and the West Bank.
Since the beginning of the war on Gaza, more than 18,000 Palestinian children have been martyred, and over 17,000 have been orphaned due to the loss or separation from one or both parents.
Children represent 31% of the total casualties resulting from the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip, reflecting the immense scale of the tragedy experienced by Palestinian society under these dire circumstances.
Beyond the loss of life, more than 10,000 children have undergone limb amputations due to severe injuries caused by the bombardment. Approximately 13,000 students have been martyred, and 22,000 others injured. In addition, nearly 800,000 students have been deprived of access to education due to the destruction of schools and educational facilities.
These shocking figures highlight the catastrophic impact of the war on the emerging Palestinian generation, which now faces martyrdom, displacement, and a loss of hope for the future.
Despite these hardships, the Palestinian people continue to demonstrate resilience in the face of aggression and occupation, calling on the international community to urgently intervene to protect children and ensure their fundamental rights to life and education.
