”MA'AN” Participates in Diplomatic Field Visit to Displacement Centers in Tulkarem Alongside the UN Delegation

MA'AN Development Center took part in a diplomatic field visit organized by the United Nations to displacement centers in the Tulkarem Governorate, aimed at assessing the humanitarian conditions and urgent needs of displaced families.

The visit was led by the Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator in the occupied Palestinian territory, Suzanna Tkalec.

The delegation included the Turkish Consul to the State of Palestine, the Head of UNRWA’s North West Bank Program, the Head of the Humanitarian Fund, and the Head of the Northern Unit at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

MA'AN was represented by its Protection Program Director, Hanadi Mubarak; the Resource Development and Communications Manager, Dana Awwad. Both representatives delivered a detailed briefing on the current needs of displaced individuals in the North, stressing the urgent need for humanitarian support, and highlighting the importance of maintaining focus on the broader humanitarian context and the many life aspects Palestinians continue to struggle with—issues that must not be overlooked by decision-makers and the international community.

The visit included a stop at one of the shelters in Tulkarem, which hosts 26 displaced families. Participants had the opportunity to witness the living conditions up close, hear directly from the families about their suffering and daily challenges, and better understand their most pressing needs in order to strengthen humanitarian response based on concrete realities.
