MA’AN Centre and World Vision Implement Community Environmental Awareness Campaigns in Kafr Qaddum and Hajja as Part of the “Green Palestine” Project

As part of the “Green Palestine” project: Promoting a Sustainable Environment for Children, Their Families, and Communities in Areas “B” and “C” of the West Bank, the Applied Research Institute – MA’AN Development Center and World Vision (an international child-focused organization), with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), carried out two environmental awareness campaigns in the villages of Kafr Qaddum and Hajja. These campaigns targeted children and caregivers through an approach that is sensitive to both gender and age.

In Kafr Qaddum, the activity was held at the Girls’ Secondary School under the slogan “Towards Eco-Friendly Schools,” with the participation of the local green committee. The event included scout performances, an awareness play titled “Small Decision, Big Impact,” educational competitions, and a recycling exhibition created by the students.

In the village of Hajja, the activity took place in the public park with the participation of the local school and the village council. It featured artistic performances by students, including a play on climate change and a stand-up comedy segment focusing on environmental themes.

These campaigns reflect the project’s commitment to supporting community-led local initiatives—particularly those led by youth and women—to build collective environmental awareness and inspire local action for global impact.
